Osteopathy
What should I expect when I consult an Osteopath?
Osteopathy considers you as an individual and therefore the osteopath will take a full case history and examine you. You will be asked to remove some of your clothing and perform a simple series of movements. The osteopath will use a highly developed sense of touch to identify any points of weakness or excessive strain throughout your body. The osteopath may need additional investigations such as blood tests or x.rays. Following the case history and examination the osteopath will explain you his/her working hypothesis and the possibilities of treatments available. The osteopath will then create with you a treatment plan adapted to your needs.
What is osteopathic treatment?
Osteopathic treatment considers your all body and how each part of it works with the others. It consists of a variety of manipulative techniques which may include muscles and connective tissue techniques, rhythmic joints movements or high velocity thrust techniques as well as gentle releasing techniques.
